about

Sometimes, it's not about waiting for life to offer you what it can.

Sometimes, it's about taking what you have and doing what -you- can.

And then taking it further than you expected.

There are a lot of people who deserve thank yous for this and as much as I would like to list you all down, I might probably run out of space -- or worse, I might forget someone and I can't have that.

So to my lovelies, to my friends, to my family and all of you who have been waiting for something big to happen -- this is one of the small things that make up that big thing. Thank you. I hope you enjoy the songs.

*Individual tracks are downloadable at your price of choice (and yes, 0.00 USD counts as a price). The idea of getting paid for my music is great, but I -want- people to have the opportunity to enjoy my music.

about

sheisnoelle Manila, Philippines

When people ask what it is that I do, I tell them simply:

I write about people, about feelings, about people who make me feel and what they make me feel. When I set my fingers over the piano keys or curl these around a pen, I tell the music all the things that my heart knows and if I am lucky it will give me a tune.

Hello, my name is Noelle Pico and I write songs.

Track Name: Hunger
Hush now,
Be still and listen to your breathing
There is a hum beneath the beating of my heart

Hush now,
Oh can't you feel that silent violence
The push and pull of that desire, of that need

And yes, a dogfight's in my chest
And it is tearing me asunder
I can't ignore this hunger for you
And as I dance out in the darkness
With these eyes bright and wide with wonder
Oh no, I can't ignore this hunger for you

Don't speak,
Because I don't know what I'm thinking
Not sure to trust these crumpled feelings at my feet

Don't speak,
'Cause words are feeble from this distance
All we have left is our resistance to this need

And yes, a dogfight's in my chest
And I can feel my knees turn rubber
And I can't resist this hunger for you
And as I dance out in the darkness
With these eyes bright and wide with wonder
I’ll find I can't ignore this hunger for you

Won't go, can't stay - what would you have me do?
Tired and torn with wanting for you

And yes, a dogfight's in my chest
And it is tearing me asunder
And I can't ignore this hunger for you

Don't leave me dancing in the dark
Don't look at me with eyes that wonder
'Cause I can't ignore this hunger for you

Hush now, be still and listen to your breathing
There is a hum beneath the beating of my heart
Track Name: SALISI
just like a wake-up call two seconds too soon
when i am startled out of sleeping
and washed over in blue
and my heart’s chasing this unnamed, fleeting feeling
that’s gone off there with the evening
as the sun peeks all over you

and like a half-remembered dream i keep on thinking
that i’ve messed up all the reasons and the details
that brought together truth
and this "we" of ours, a word left untranslated
i wish i’d seen it, i could have seized it
freeze-framed it so i wouldn’t have had to fall

it was all sleight of hand, accidental trick
this crime of opportunity
my pockets emptied of affections
i cannot really afford to really feel
and what is worse is i can’t blame you
i can’t get mad or even shame you
for an unexpected something
that neither of us would have known

and i wonder
do you see a half-made memory of me
your eyes, that smile, your voice
calling out my name

and i—
i wonder if it's right at all
to want to say goodbye

we’ll chalk it up to déjà vu
this love from me to the ghost of you
and me and everything
that we could have
ever tried to be

let’s not define ourselves by what we’re not
maybe one day we’ll time it right
but for now let’s breathe
and let go
at the count of three
